I took a walk this evening and decided to walk in downtown Summerville. I saw, for the most part, what I expected. Tree lined streets, lots of American flags, quaint drug shops, lots picket fences, and well, as this is the bible belt, lots of churches. Nearly one on every corner!

I did see something quite unexpected. Right across the street from “The Episcopal Church”, yes that’s the name, was Goddess Dance Studio, which at first, I thought was a regular dance studio where one might go to do ballet and all types of modern dance, but upon closer inspection! :-) Well, look for yourself!

Well, in looking at their website, they say it is a type of workout for getting fit. If you want to call, the area code is 843. :-)

Here are some more photos from the walk.

Ambassador Tao

Meet, Tao, the ambassador of cats. Well, that may be a stretch, as I don’t know his real name, nor if he is an ambassador, nor even if it is a ‘he’, but for the sake of easy pronouns, let’s say ‘he’. Ladies, feel free to substitute ‘she’! :-)

I met Tao on my very first visit morning visit to the Ashely river. He greeted me at the head of one of the trails and bid me to follow him. His only request, or should I say demand, was that I stop every 10 or 15 feet to rub his neck, back, ears, and belly. He’s very courteous and, well as most cats seem to be, curious. He almost seemed dog-like for a time, walking on my left side in a ‘heel’ position, except for those times that he walked in front of me to get me to stop and administer the proper ‘gratuity’ for his time. He’s totally unaffected by market conditions, the price of gasoline, or even the alligators that may lurk around the river. He can’t read the warning signs, so there is no warning! :-)

He showed me a good time and was a great companion for the 30 or so minutes that I could benefit from his company. With a final belly rub, I said my goodbyes and off to work I went. When I went back on Tuesday, I looked for him, but he wasn’t around. I hope that in future visits, he’ll grace me with his company once again. I really enjoyed it!
