I didn’t attend last year because they didn’t have one in Charlotte, NC. The closest one last year was Columbia, SC and I just didn’t feel like driving 2 hours to walk for 2.5. :-) This year, the number of walks has greatly expanded and, even though it is on a Saturday evening, I might attend the one in Charleston, SC.

The walk is set for July 18th and you have to sign up with your local walk leader. You can find details here. In Charleston, there are 17 spots left. I better make my decision … and soon! They set a limit of 50 people per walk.

Anyone else plan on attending? I think that it would be a great way to get out and meet other photographers and just have a fun evening shooting and then eating and drinking afterward.

  1. There is a walk in a town nearby me, Malmö, but it has already been fully booked. :( Two friend of mine will participate, hopefully there will be cancellations… it’s certainly a very good way to get to know others with the same interest.

  2. Paul, Sounds like fun! I’ve signed up for a walk in the Mocksville, Winston-Salem, NC area. I believe they’re having it on the grounds of Raylen Vineyards and reportedly the grapes will be in full ripeness. As Ove said, it’s a good way to get to know other photographers in the area. :-)

  3. Paul, Thanks for the kind words about the Charleston, SC Worldwide Photo Walk 2009.

Please note it is a MORNING walk…9 to 12… and then we gather for lunch. Hope to see you there.

  4. @Chuck: Thanks for the info, Chuck. I got the times confused with the Charlotte walk. Good to be getting the walk out of the way before the heat and humidity start to get really bad!

  5. As there is no photowalk next to my place, I decided to organize one myself. Now I am hoping for some supports of my friends and a prolific experience.

  6. I went last year and it was HUGE for our little town. It spawned into the formation of a photo club that is now coming along quite nicely. I think I’ll attend again. I shot 9 – 10 photos with my twin lens with the intention of hand tinting them. Haven’t done that yet, though.

  7. That is such a beautiful image, Paul. Is that the 645e?

  8. @Chris: Yes. It is the 645e. I’m really enjoying it.

  9. Such a cute photo!!! :)

I did not do it last year but there is one just one town over from me so I will probably do it, schedule permitting that is. I have a lot of tentatives on my schedule this summer. But the date is free at this moment in time. It sounds interesting.

  10. Yup, will be attending the Dublin one although I had missed it last year. But I already know a good handful of the people attending, the photographers in Ireland must be a very sociable bunch… :)
