@Laurie: The next morning it had dried out and looked like nothing had happened, well except for the pine needles that are used for landscaping being scattered everywhere except around the plants!

Oh, my, I started reading and was hoping your apartment wasn’t on the ground floor. I am relieved to see by your follow-up comment that the water has receded. I recently saw an article mentioning an increasing el nino weather pattern. Your photo-story has me convinced. We would love to have some of that rain in California, but not all of what you had, thank you. Take care of yourself.

During our visits to Charleston, we often talked to locals about the meaning of the term “low country”. They described scenes similar to the ones you’ve shown here (I love the one of the car plowing through water). But we never actually got to experience it (good thing, I guess). Man, that’s a lot of water. Maybe I should stop complaining about a little sogginess here in the northeast! Stay dry, Paul.

Oh dear, here in Austria we had it the last two weeks. There was flooding in many parts of the country. Personally I was not affected in any way (other than that I needed to make some rain images for my blog), but I can feel with you. Good luck!
