As I was on my morning with with Sir Hobbs, I noticed the beauty in the morning, something that I had not be noticing for quite some time as I was caught up in my own thoughts and just could not see.

Anyway, this morning, it was quite different and there were pictures to be had everywhere, but I didn’t have a camera with me. Or at least I didn’t think that I did. Then, I realized that I had my phone with me. When I walk with Hobbs, having a ‘real’ camera with me is not so good. It’s hard to stop, focus, take pictures, and keep an eye on Hobbs. He likes to roam and, like many of you, I rather like to get into taking the photos without worrying about how far astray my dog has gone.

When I realized that I had my cell phone with me, which has a fairly competent little camera in it, 3 MP in its full glory, I started taking photos. I walk past this rock every time that we are out for a walk and wonder how it get here. It was probably left during the finishing up of the construction that never happened. Most of the fields in this area have been abandoned and are for sale. So much for the housing market.

Anyway, it was a nice walk around and I got to take a few pictures with the best camera that I had … at the time. Perhaps tomorrow morning I’ll go without Hobbs, but I’ll have to figure a way to sneak out because whenever I put on my shorts, he runs to the door. If I put on work pants, he doesn’t care. Perhaps I’ll have to pretend to be going to work, then sneak out! :-)

  1. Who needs an expensive camera, three lens, eight camera bags, three filters, a tripod, anyway? :-) It’s amazing how well these cameras do work.

Sounds like Hobbs is very perceptive. Nothing gets by him. So, the work pants sounds like a good idea. Maybe the hybrid pants, where you can zip the pants off, would work. As smart as he seems he could catch on. Or, maybe buy Hobbs a camera. LOL

  2. Paul,

Great camera phone shot, LOL. I like this photo. I love the light reflections on the rock, very nice capture.

  3. Paul, The past month I have been giving tours to groups of middle school students at the museum. Many of them come armed with camera phones. Yesterday I watched as this young guy spent about a minute photographing a ship artifact. When he was finished, he stared at the image, compared it to the artifact, then a big smile crossed his face. Apparently, he must have nailed it!
