I was out this evening with His Royal Highness, Sir Hobbs and noticed that it might be an interesting sunset. So, after bringing him back in, I headed down to the Lake Wylie in McDowell Nature Preserve.
I took several shots of the warm glow of the sun, but just as the sun was about to dip below the tree line, I happened to look over the railing that I was leaning against and saw the flow on the rocks at the edge of the shore.
Funny, I didn’t even expect to have the photos of the rocks become my favorite photos of the evening, but they did. It was a different type of sunset.

This evening’s sunset was certainly quite beautiful. I didn’t have a good vantage point for a photo but enjoyed it just the same. The reflection on the rock is a nice find!

Really a great find!
Great colors which look like they are bleeding into the water. You really have a good eye.
Some people never will be able to see “photographically” and spot a composition like this. Nice!

Thanks, Bill. I’ve learned to look up, down, left, right, forward, and backward.
I think, this is the whim of the variegated nature.

Sometimes the treasures aren’t so obvious are they — a good reason to keep looking around. Nicely done and a beautiful shot, Paul.

No, Earl, sometimes you have to ‘discover’ the treasure and isn’t it good that they aren’t always so obvious! It makes the hunting fun!
Second rule in photography – expect the unexpected. I forget what the first rule is. Great shot, Paul.
