  1. Great news and glad it suits you. So now I have a place to sleep next time I’m down that way and Hobbs even liked me! Sounds like a good place to set some roots and carry on the next stage of life. That is one nice back yard and looks quite large. Enjoy my friend!

    • Thank, Monte. I can guarantee that you’ll have a place to sleep and it won’t involve a blanket and a bathtub! ;) Yeah, I remember. LOL – Also, it is quite large. Slightly under a 1/2 acre. I have to decide on how to get it cut, or if I’m going to be the one doing the cutting. Hmmmmm….

  2. That is a cool looking backyard Paul and I am sure Hobbs will enjoy it immensely. It even looks like you’ve got your own Zen garden there, rocks and all. You might need to get the rake out and start contemplating… well, you know… everything :)

Anyway, glad to hear it all went well for you and Sir Hobbs.

    • Oh, yeah Cedric. It is a good place for quiet contemplation. I’ll have to see about getting that rake, contemplating, and coming up with interesting insights to post about. :)

  3. Beautiful yard Paul. I think I see a riding mower in your future. Looks like the previous owners once had a swimming pool – ie. your new rock garden. (Perhaps with this heat, you wish it was still there! :-) ).

Some nice looking large rocks also, those things aren’t cheap or easy to get placed.

Very nice, a mixture of some seclusion with the trees, and some openness. I can see many photos coming from this area in the future.

    • Mark. I’ve already been thinking about that. When the weather gets cooler, I will most certainly be out there photographing and planting a few things, but right now, I’ll just enjoy the view from this side of the glass! :)

  4. Good luck with the new house, Paul. The back yard looks very nice, the previous owners did a great job with the garden. I think you’re going to enjoy this for many years to come.

  5. Hi Paul,

It was so nice to see that you visited my blog. I haven’t been very active in the blog world in recent years. I just haven’t had as much time and found that it was getting too cumbersome trying to keep up with everyone…sad but true. I do miss a lot of my fellow bloggers and of course you are at the top of that list.

I enjoyed skimming through your blog and catching up with you a little. I will need a week to fully catch up! I see a lot has happened in the year or two that I have been mostly absent. Life marches on, the kids are grown…in college or graduated and time doesn’t stand still and wait for us to catch our breath…Life has been like the energizer bunny, it just keeps going. I was so glad to read that Hobbs is still around and doing well in his advanced years. :)

I cannot promise anything but I will say that I will try to make a better effort to stay in touch. Again thank you for taking the time to stop by. Good luck in your new home.

      • Well, I was reading some of my old posts and saw a comment that you had made about 4 years ago … about your 5 year plan to be out of NJ. I was just wondering how it was going and what you were doing, of late, on your blog. You had stopped posting for a while.

        • Ahhh…how life gets in the way of plans! The five year plan is on pause…the economy has not been kind and I have all 3 boys living home…sigh…Rob has left active military duty and is on inactive ready reserve while attending Rutgers full time on the GI Bill. Russ just graduated Rutgers and is earning money doing “gigs” and working at a music prep camp while looking for more permanent employment…but it is not looking good and Jon is entering his second year at Temple University. So we will stay rooted in NJ for the near future if for no other reason than living space for all of us. We kind of still all fit in the house without wanted to kill each other…so far. Otherwise things are not so different from 4 years ago except for my blogging activity which is very little.

    • Well, I don’t know if it is something to be jealous of … I spend nearly 3 hours cutting the grass yesterday. :) Something to consider. LOL
