In early December, my Sifu, or teacher, and owner Eric Sbarge asked me to take some photos for an upcoming article in a local magazine, Natural Awakenings. Naturally, I was pleased to do it. So, on December 3rd, I went to The Peaceful Dragon, took some photos, and provided them to him for selection. He made his choices; I provided the images for the magazine, and went on my vacation to The Grand Canyon.
Today, the magazine came out and featured my photos. You can read the article here; it begins on page 24. Sure, it’s a local magazine that not many people will probably see, but it’s still nice to be published.
It’s kind of hard to believe that I’ve been there nearly 3 years – I’m still such a rookie, too. LOL – As for this photo, I’m glad that I was taking the picture, not the guy with his feet in the air!

Nice one Paul. It’s always nice to see one’s photo published in a magazine. Or anywhere for that matter
As you say, it’s better than being up-ended and thrown on your back

Thanks, Eric. I hadn’t even thought about it that way, but it most certainly is!
Congratulation, my friend. It makes me proud to know you have accomplished such a feat. Between you and Earl, we are starting to see more celebrity status among us bloggers. Oh, and not bad for a “rookie”.

Thanks, Monte. I still have a ways to go before I catch up with the venerable Earl of Salisbury, but I’m trying.
Congratulations, Paul!

That’s sweet Paul. Congrats. Hey, has anyone ever mentioned that your instructor George Lu looks a lot like Jet Li in that one photo at the head of the article?
Mark recently posted..Moving Forward
George is a very witty individual so if I said that to him, he’d probably say: So, Paul, are you saying that all of us Chinese guys look the same? Then, I’d have to say: Of course!
George and I are not very politically correct with each other. We jest quite a bit. He’s got a great sense of humor.
I really didn’t mean it like that
just that he actually looked like Jet Li – similar face shape, hair, facial structure…

If you knew George, you’d understand. He’d say that no matter how you “meant” it.
