I never found a companion that was so companionable as solitude.

Nothing to add. Back home now. Had a great time helping my sister celebrate her birthday.

Glad you’re back home where it’s warmer. It is nice to spend time with family to celebrate with them. I did not notice the person walking in this image on my first glance. May be an indication of how my day will go.

Monte, it’s great to be back home where temperatures are more spring-like!
It’s OK that you missed the lady in the picture. She’s very small in the frame. Only her red jacket and hat make her stand out.
I’m assuming that’s not North Carolina in the image, is it?

Ha! Thankfully, no. That’s Akron, OH.
Amen HDT and Amen PDL Love how the photo is crisp and refreshing. We get the pleasure of walking in a winter wonderland without the mush and slush of freezing and melting. You have provided a public service. We Southies thank you.
Thanks, PQ! It was a good time, even if a bit cold.
Great storytelling in this image. A very inviting image—I mean to contemplate, not the snow and the cold.

Thanks, Anita.
It is a favourite photographic moment of mine to be in a beautiful landscape with a single person in the distance. And that person wearing red as well! It’s only happened three times to me and I remember each time most clearly.
Welcome back Paul.

That red certainly stands out. I saw a couple of other opportunities: a group of 3, man, woman, and a dog, but the couple had on dark blue. I took the photo anyway. There was also a man with green camouflage and orange gloves. Took that too, but you can barely see him, save for his gloves. Red wins every time!
Paul, great composition and that red certainly snags the eye! A thousand storys could be told from this image. Nice
