Friday, it was sunny and 67. Saturday, it was snowing like crazy, complete with thunder and lighting! Sunday morning, it was very cold, but starting to thaw. Yesterday. Rain. Today, sunny and moderate and the trees are displaying their buds, but not yet blooming.

I enjoyed the walk in the snow on Sunday morning, but, equally enjoy a walk in the sunshine! I can have my pick, at least this week, by just waiting a few hours. These shots, only 3 days apart. If I went back again, today, it’d look like the top photo!

Paul, for once those of you in Charlotte got much more snow then here in Salisbury. There was none on the ground at my house.

It was pretty amazing here. It snowed rapidly for about 2 hours and, before you know it, we had 3 or 4 inches of nice, powdery snow. It was fun to watch. I was rather surprised by the thunder and lighting, though. However, it only happened once. Could have been a spaceship!
I like the way each photo has almost the exact perspective. As far as the photos go, I like the “winter” one slightly better but if I had to go for a walk, I’d prefer the top photo weather to walk in.
Maybe you should do a time-lapse series over a weeks time.

Thanks, Ken. I am attracted to this particular gate, for some reason. I walk past it most every morning during my walks. I’ve framed it between a couple of trees, shot from the right, the left, etc. It wasn’t hard to find a photo of it without snow; however, this is the only one that I have with snow.
Perhaps the series over the seasons. It doesn’t seem to change much throughout the week, but then, perhaps I never looked at it at that level.
Sounds like at was a pretty snowfall but one that only comes once every other year or so. I like how our weather can change so quickly out here in Colorado. It is cloudy now and snow is expected tonight. I’ll have to scrape the car window in the morning.

I don’t know, Monte. Your weather out there in CO seems to be pretty consistent – cold!
Yes. We didn’t have even a snowflake in Charlotte last year, and the year before, it snowed twice. So, that seems to be our M.O., snow about every 2 years or so.
Paul, I suggest you set up a camera on a tripod and have it photograph this particular spot on time-lapse for a whole year. Shouldn’t be too hard right?
Seriously though, these are nice photos and for someone like me who lives in a place where everything looks the same year round, they tell a fascinating story.
