This is Geordi, Vanessa’s dog. On Sunday we went for a walk, the three of us. I thought for sure that we could tire this little bugger out just a bit. We went to a greenway in Morganton, NC. From start to finish, we walked about 9.25 miles.
I had taken my shower and was sitting on the bed. Geordi had made himself comfortable and was relishing the comfort of the bed and the nice, indirect light coming from the window. It was an overcast day, so the window light was, in a word, perfect. I had my iPhone with me. I wanted to get up and get my Olympus, which was outside in the car, but figured that was asking a bit too much. The texture of the cover and his wiry hair caught my attention. I had imagined the photo as black and white. I took a few shots, occasionally, he’d look up to see what I was doing and then would doze right back off to sleep.
He slept, as Vanessa had guessed that he would, for about 30 minutes and then he was reenergized and ready to go! I cannot say the same for myself.
I had walked 7 miles Saturday morning, then 9 on Sunday morning. Today, a big fat goose egg, zero miles. It’s still light outside, so perhaps I can squeeze in a couple, but my legs, though they do not hurt, are a little bit tired. I will certainly need more than 30 minutes of nap time to recuperate.
