It was only a few weeks ago that I was sitting on the porch in Guatemala, shivering, wishing that I had brought some long pants and a jacket. Oh well, I’ll know better next time. However, I was able to get a blanket and warm up a bit and, as an added bonus, was able to keep the mosquitoes off of me! In the mornings, during my walks, the temperatures were in the upper 50s, quite nice for walking.
Well, back to reality I had to come, to the warm embrace of Charlotte, NC. The past week has seen temperatures in the 90s with heat indexes of 100, a few times to about 106, or so. My morning walks are rather warm and humid. I’ve been drinking a lot more water recently, for some reason. 😉
However, the wildflowers that I planted next to my house are enjoying the weather quite a bit. And with them, come the bubble bees, honey bees, moths, butterflies, and an occasional dragonfly … all welcomed visitors.
It’s summertime, after all, and warm weather is part of it and I have some “cool” visitors!
