OK, sometimes I don’t have such good ideas. Today’s idea was one that was in that category. I decided to take my dog, Hobbs, with me on a photo outing. Bad idea. I was planning to shoot some more macros of the ladybugs and various insects that I find in an open lot. However, Hobbs had different ideas. He decided that wherever I was, he wanted to be. Instead of roaming freely among the grasses and deserted streets, between the…

I just got back home from my son’s basketball tournament, from which we took 2nd place, again! This makes 4, 2nd place finishes in a row. That aside, I am really getting into shooting the games, although this weekend meant spending 3 of 4 games in a hot, stuffy, dimly lit gym. Getting close to the action is no problem. The problem is getting far enough away from the action. They gyms are pretty small and, to get the best…

If you don’t pray, please keep him in your thoughts, send good intentions his way, and wish him a speedy recovery. I know that the clouds will break and the sun will shine again for him. To be honest, when I first saw Vera, I was hooked! I mean immediately! During the remainder of the class, it was all that…

I really liked this post and it was lost when I accidentally dropped my database, so I’ll try to recreate it from memory. If you’ve posted before, no need to post again. It was just a nice memory. A couple of weeks ago when I went to Savannah for The Next Step workshop, Charles was one of my challenges. We were to photograph someone who we normally wouldn’t have approached. Charles was my subject. He’s a street corner preacher. The…

I had written this before, but since I killed my database, I’ll write it again. This time much shorter: I was over on Cool Daddio’s site reading the results of his survey about blogging. It struck me that the reason, probably, that we blog is to get comments. When I first started blogging last May, I think, I was overly concerned with generating traffic to my blog. I found that in order to get a lot of traffic, especially for…
