FAQ
Are you the Paul Lester that does golf pictures?
No! That’s not me! I don’t shoot golf nor do I play it.
Who are you?
I’m the guy with his name on the header! Paul Lester. I have been doing software development, full time, for over 24 years and moonlight as a semi-professional photographer. I have done weddings, model portfolios, sports, and one-on-one teaching.
What can I expect to find here?
You can expect to find free content for beginners, some equipment reviews, as well as my thoughts and general musings on photography and life in general.
Since you have a full time job, how often do you go out and shoot?
Good question. I get to shoot about 4 or 5 days per week, if I’m lucky. Sometimes, it’s just the weekend but I try to make time each and every day.
You know, I’ve thought about starting my own blog. How much time do you spend writing your posts?
I spend about 1 hour per day writing posts and perhaps another hour answering them and thinking up new material.
How often do you post?
I try to post once per day, but if the well runs dry for that particular day, I don’t force it!
How long have you been writing your blog?
I started this blog in April of 2006. So, as of this writing, almost 4 years! Four years ago, I didn’t even know what a blog was then a friend of mine, Greg Cain, started one, so I figured, why not?! I’m glad that I did. It’s a rewarding experience and I’ve met a lot of cool people and have even been out photographing with a few of them! Greg, unfortunately, didn’t keep up his blog. It sure was fun to read.
I’m always curious about where people live so, where do you live?
I’m based in beautiful Charlotte, NC
If I wanted to contact you directly, is there an e-mail address where I can contact you?
Yep. blog [at] paullesterphoto [dot] com – Gotta be careful of those SPAM-bots, ya know! I hope to hear from you!
If I post a comment to your site, do I have to leave my real e-mail address?
There’s nothing strictly speaking to say that you have to, but I would sincerely appreciate it so that I can respond directly to you sometimes. However, I cannot force you to leave the correct e-mail address. That said, I would never provide your e-mail address to any person or mailing list. I get enough SPAM for the both of us!
Sometimes you write provocative commentary. If I want to post a comment, will you delete it if I don’t agree with you?
Heavens, no! As long as you are respectful, please feel free to disagree. No ad hominem attacks, please! Address the argument, not the person’s belief. Disagreement is good. It helps me to see another side of the argument.
