The other day at the halfway point of my walk while I was wandering about and taking a few pictures, I heard a quite audible – “thunk”!. Next, a sort of “plop” as a sparrow fell to the sidewalk next to the windows of Marble Slab Creamery. The poor birdie was quite a bit dazed and confused. He kept shaking his head, trying to get his bearings, and get himself back in business. As I approached, I saw that there…

Well, the birds like the feeder and there seems to be another who is interested in the feeder as well … well, interested in the birds, at least. 🙂

For a few years I had a bird feeder and I used to love to sit and watch the birds come and go. A couple of weeks ago, I decided to buy another one and once again enjoy my fine feathered friends. I’d forgotten about the particular seed mix. The one shown here has lots of millet, a seed that blackbirds and sparrows love. It appears as if she only has one mouth to feed, but this guy is pretty hungry. He pretty much just camps outside of…

That was nothing unusual as there are so many squirrels scampering about on any given day, not really trying to be quiet at all, or the occasional dear crashing through the woods in distance. I took a glance, heard the noise, but didn’t see anything. I stopped. I still didn’t see anything until I saw some leaves move, like they were tossed up…

The chicks above my door are growing. I’m sure that they’ll be gone soon and I don’t have a really good photo of them just yet. This is the ‘best’ one that I have. I like it because it is somewhat abstract, but shows their activity. Momma comes and feeds them many times per day. She stays quite busy! Whenever I hear them cheeping, I grab my camera, try to get a shot; however, the angle is such that it…
