The leaves haven’t started to change in earnest, but some of them, usually the maple trees, have started to change. I saw this in one of yards that I walk by on my daily walks. I may make a trip “out west” this weekend, to The Blue Ridge Parkway to see what I can see. Maybe there’s some color there and hopefully, cooler temperatures!

Well, some color has finally come to the piedmont. There are splotches of color throughout the forest, some yellows, some reds, even a few oranges here and there, but not the Florida kind! 🙂 This morning there was a bit of fog, so I skipped the usual walk and headed to the lake, hoping that there would be quite a bit of fog there. Not exactly the fall-like weather that I had hoped for. However, the rest of the week looks promising with highs in the 60s and lows in the low 50s. Fingers crossed! 🙂

I took this picture last Friday, the last sunny day that we’ve had for a few days. I don’t mind the rain at all. In fact, I think that we needed it. After the steady rain subsides, I think that it will be time to head back into the woods to have a look at all of the leaves on the ground. Last time, looking up, next…

He must have given it a lot of thought and he was a smart guy, so who am I to dispute his conclusion. 🙂

There’s no riot of colors, nor are there any RV drivers holding up traffic along the 1 mile drive in McDowell Nature Preserve. All was quiet yesterday morning when I went for a walk amongst the leaves, the trees, and of course, the squirrels. 🙂 The temperature was in the low to mid-50 range. It felt quite good.
